As part of the MFA thesis exhibition, ‘cause your voice is same as me is based on my dialogue with the artist Umico Niwa on voice, time, transition, and body. This project was inspired by gender affirming voice theraphy exercises, how machine discern “human speech”, and karaoke lyric videos.
The script which was generated from the glitch from the transcription app is read out loud by 4 queer/trans community memebers of VCU.
The video then was created from a website using gsap.
